Maison Blonde: Our Kitchen Reveal!

Hello, found you in a search for Portola Paint Roman Clay hood. You did a great job on the kitchen- love it! I am an Interior Designer working on my own personal kitchen and am planning on using Roman Clay (Fade to Black) on my range hood but am worried about it’s durability with regards to cooking and oils/grease. Have you had any issues with yours?

And Elaine, its a counter depth fridge so that helps with the built-in look! For the airspace required at the top, we made a custom wood grill to let the air through without having a wide open gap. :)

Where did you purchase your range hood from?

Our pantry is 6.5’ wide x 3.5’ deep :) The rug is from Loloi – send me an email and I can source it for you.

And in reply to Michelle, thank you! Our walls were originally 1" plaster – which we removed and installed 1/2" cement board. That makes our Clé tile appear “sunken” into the wall and only sticks out 1/4" for us now. We added a stainless steel Schluter strip to finish the edge.

I just found your Instagram and blog and have fallen in love with your design.

We are in the middle of our kitchen renovation and are also going with the zellige tile in weathered white. I was wondering how you solutioned for ending the thick tile on a flat wall? I’ve read that the installer can miter the edges, but just curious if that’s what you did or if you came up with a different solution? Thanks so much!
